What’s on Your Plate?

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”

 ~Hippocrates

You value your health and that of your family but have a limited grocery budget and perhaps even more limited time for meal prep.

News stories are filled with the latest on GMOs, pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones and most recently, PLASTIC, all part of the US food supply.

So who can you trust to tell you the truth about food safety?

This week I have been listening to The Food Revolution Summit, hosted by father and son duo, John and Ocean Robbins.

Perhaps it’s the rebel in me but knowing these two men, who could have easily lived off their Baskin Robbins inheritance, have turned instead to providing nutritional education makes me believe they know a thing or two about food and how it affects your body.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that John Robbins wrote the seminal Diet for a New America ,  bringing to light vegetarianism, animal rights and the environmental impact of factory farming. His exposé on the connections between diet, physical health, and environmentalism was cutting edge thinking in 1987.

Pew research center reports 72% of adults say that healthy eating habits are very important for improving a person’s chances of living a long and healthy life.

And yet, fascinatingly,  one in three Americans is obese, leading to the further development of many diseases such as diabetes, heart and liver disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, and certain cancers.

The experts that the Mr. Robbinses have put forth are impressive: 24 learned experts speak on the food health connection. Learn what mainstream medicine is not telling you about staying healthy and living your best life. Included are easy, healthy quick recipes you can make.

The Food Revolution Summit is a 9-day, online event.

Each day of the Summit, you’ll get to hear three approximately 45-minute interviews broadcast at 11 am, 12 am, and 1 pm Eastern time. If you can’t listen then, there are replays of each day for the next 21 hours.

If you haven’t joined yet, I invite you to sign up here.
